Hand Dyed Wool
Our small-batch hand-dyed 100% Perendale wool is available in a beautiful range of vibrant colours and plys. Durable yet soft, this versatile yarn is perfect for knitting, crochet, weaving, felting and a wide variety of handcraft projects, making it a favourite for makers, schools and fibre artists alike.
Mohair
Soft brushed and boucle mohair, hand dyed in a range of beautiful colours, specially suited for doll hair. Light, airy, it creates natural-looking texture and movement for Waldorf-style dolls, soft toys and craft projects.
Merino Slivers
Ashford Merino sliver is a 100% New Zealand product made from fine Merino wool. Available in a wide range of beautiful colours, it is ideal for wet felting, needle felting and a variety of fibre art and handcraft projects.

At Mollydale Yarns, we are a small family business in country NSW passionate about creating beautiful, hand-dyed yarns that inspire creativity, meaningful handwork, and lifelong learning. For more than 20 years, we have proudly supplied our hand-dyed 100% Perendale wool yarn to over 35 Steiner schools across Australia.
Our connection to Steiner education began at home. Evie attended the Armidale Waldorf School, where she developed a lifelong appreciation for the value of handcraft, natural fibres, and learning through making. That experience continues to shape the values behind Mollydale Yarns: providing beautiful, high-quality materials that encourage creativity, nurture fine motor skills, and foster a meaningful connection between maker and material.
Our yarn is spun in New Zealand using premium Australian and New Zealand Perendale wool. As Perendale sheep are naturally resistant to flystrike, they are not mulesed, making our yarn an ethical choice for makers who value animal welfare. By sourcing our wool from Australia and New Zealand and having it spun close to its origin before being sent directly to us for dyeing, we keep the production journey simple and minimise unnecessary transport.
Each skein is carefully hand dyed in small batches by our mother-and-daughter team, Nicola and Evie. This hands-on approach ensures exceptional quality, rich, lasting colour, and consistency, while also allowing us to create custom colourways tailored to the needs of individual makers, schools, and creative projects.
Every dye session is thoughtfully planned, progressing from the lightest shades to the darkest, so our harvested rainwater can be reused multiple times before being refreshed. Our dye house is powered by a combination of solar energy and gas, reducing reliance on grid electricity. Once dyed, each skein is naturally dried outdoors in the gentle, dappled shade, helping to preserve the beauty, softness, and vibrancy of the wool.
